-Submissions are currently closed. While we will consider any works, we are primarily interested in those that grapple with life in flyover country states and regions. We love place-based, lyrical writing that captures life between the coasts.

-Fiction and creative nonfiction submissions should be less than 7,500 words. We are equally open to flash pieces and longer stories.

-Criticism and journalism should be less than 7,500 words as well. We are also open to anything in these areas, but are particularly interested in book reviews of, and interviews with, up-and-coming authors from the heartland. Do you have an interesting journalistic piece on your hometown that you are trying to find a home for? Send it here!

-If you are submitting poetry, please feel free to submit up to 5 poems at a time.

-Please send all submissions to Flyovercountryliterarymagazine@gmail.com. Please include a short author bio. If there is a particular image or photograph that you would like to have featured with your submission, feel free to attach one. These could also be drawings, paintings, etc.–anything that you think best represents your submission.
